If you don't have a husband/wife, children, or other ties to think about, it'll be easier, faster, or more efficient for you to complete a particular task or attain your goals.
Well, it's true that he travels fastest who travels alone—I couldn't have cleaned the house that fast if I'd had to look after some kids.
A: When I am alone, I can finish my homework within 1 hour. However, it often takes me 2 hours to finish my homework when my cousins come to my house. B: No wonder they always say that he travels fastest who travels alone.
This proverb comes from Rudyard Kipling’s poem, The Winners, which he describes as a ‘heretical song’.
