Lay (something) at (one's) feet verb phrase
To put something on the ground in front of someone
The dog laid the wallet I had dropped at my feet. What a smart dog!
To make someone responsible for something
He lost my favorite book, so I would lay it at his feet.
You can't lay this matter at my feet. It's not my fault.
The verb "lay" should be conjugated according to its tense.
