What one person finds pleasant, delightful, or advantageous may be hated by another.
I don't understand why people like eating durians. One man's meat is another man's poison.
If someone or something stands/sticks out like a sore thumb, they are so noticeable that the surrounding people and things notice them.
To do something differently
Someone who ruins others' fun and enjoyment
To be totally different from something.
Do you see anything wrong?

2. To do something that allows one to go further in a competition or to be promoted at work
