Outside chance phrase
A chance that could happen but is very unlikely.
I have a test tomorrow, but I haven't cracked a book yet. However, there is an outside chance that I might be able to pass the exam.
However, to be realistic, we have to concur that there is an outside chance that schools and classrooms will be book–free in the next decades.
This phrase comes from horse racing in 1845.
This phrase is used to describe something very modern or updated or something that no longer looks like what it's used to.
It has been a long time since I left my high school, and now I have to admit that it's certainly not your father's high school anymore.
