Ping (one) spoken language verb slang
Used to describe the action of sending someone a message.
I will ping David to ask whether he is going with us to the party.
Oh, sorry. I didn't know that you'd pinged me on messenger until I opened the app.
Ping Ross to come over to my office right now.
I'll ping you when I get off the plane.
The verb "ping" should be conjugated with its tense.
Children or adults often say this phrase to get their friends to join in something, especially to jump into a swimming pool (pond, lake, etc.)
