Make/raise a stink Verb + object/complement figurative
If you make or raise a stink, you make make a strong public complaint or make trouble about something.
She will raise a stink if she doesn't find her wedding ring.
A: Why don't you tell her what really happened? B: I am afraid that she will make a stink about that matter.
It's only a small mistake. Why do you keep raising a stink about it?
