Take a running jump in a/the lake spoken language exclamation
Said to someone when you want them to go away and leave you on your own because you find them annoying.
A: What's the color of your underwear? B: Go take a running jump in a lake, you freak!
A: Lend me your car only one more time, please! B: You know what? You can just take a running jump in a lake!
The origin of this expression is not clear.
Children or adults often say this phrase to get their friends to join in something, especially to jump into a swimming pool (pond, lake, etc.)
“Last one in is a rotten egg!” yelled Jane, jumping into the pool.
