Outside chance phrase
A chance that could happen but is very unlikely.
I have a test tomorrow, but I haven't cracked a book yet. However, there is an outside chance that I might be able to pass the exam.
However, to be realistic, we have to concur that there is an outside chance that schools and classrooms will be book–free in the next decades.
This phrase comes from horse racing in 1845.
