It takes all sorts (to make a world) proverb
Said when you consider someone's action or thoughts weird but acceptable to you because you think that people with different personalities, views, and abilities make up the world.
A: Gosh! Look at John! He is running in the rain! B: Well, it takes all sorts.
A: I've never played video games because I find them lackluster. B: Hmm. It's true that it takes all sorts.
I can't understand why John enjoys studying for hours, but I guess it takes all sorts to make the world.
The Book of Common Prayer (1548) includes a Prayer for All Conditions of Men, which prays to God “for all sorts and conditions of men; that thou wouldest be pleased to make thy ways known unto them.” This may have been the source of the next version, "It takes all sorts to make a world," which became current in the seventeenth century. In the late nineteenth century it was shortened to "it takes all sorts" and by now is a cliché.
