Not hold a stick to (someone or something) phrase
If a person or a thing "doesn't hold a stick to someone or something else", he/she/it is significantly inferior to someone or something, they are not as good as someone or something.
I have to admit that she is very good at her job, but she couldn't hold a stick to Jane - her colleague.
Our new sofa is fairly soft, however, I find it doesn't hold a stick to my friend's one.
Have you seen the latest movie of Anne Hathaway? Personally, I think it can't hold a stick to her earlier movie.
